The next step in the evolution of creative and hands-on learning for our younger
generations. Our after-school programme brings history to life by using the subject
of archaeology as the conduit to the past. Children will participate together in
small class groups and critically think for themselves through the use of ancient
craft & technology workshops. We create a fun, exciting and informative
environment for children where they can explore the past by carrying
out stimulating and educational activities.
Our junior archaeologists’ club special ingredient for success is our form of active learning encouraging your child to learn how our ancestors adapted to their natural environment. By teaching children to use simple tools and raw materials we harness your children’s desire to learn more about ancient crafts and technologies in past societies. Our workshop activities utilise these ancient skills creating an understanding of the greatest innovations and civilisations the world has ever seen.
We use an ‘Indiana Jones’ approach to ensure your child gets a balance of time, outdoors and indoors. As well as taking part in their very own excavations and exciting activity workshops, children will also arrive home with an abundance of new and quirky knowledge about their ancient ancestors.
Please note: If your child has any specific additional needs or requires a SNA in school, The SIA will need the accompaniment of a guardian or special needs assistant (SNA) throughout the duration of the club. If your child suffers from any illness or medical condition you must notify SIA. Our staff are all vetted, experienced and trained when it comes to working with children, however, in order to have the best needs of the children in mind and their time with us is enjoyed, we would encourage parents and guardians to contact us if they have any concerns. For further information please contact us at info@sia.ie.
