The School of Irish Archaeology

Living with Covid Plan - With the current restrictions and measures announced by the government we would like to advise customers we have are continuing our bookings for our school / after-school programmes, workshops and camps in-line with the proposed government recommendations. The government guidelines have recommended a specific criteria and The SIA will follow these protocols in-line with the HPSC. Under the current level of restrictions we are currently not running camps or afterschools but where primary and secondary schools are open we will be facilitating these schools with our services. With this in mind we always ensure, especially if indoors that our 'activity pods' are in smaller groups than the advised number of participants outlined by government at the time. It's not ideal for our clients nor parents and children but it is a start in the right direction and please be advised, these circumstances can rapidly change and we may have to make amendments to our events such as times, itineraries and pricing structures where necessary.

All of our events will have a good mix of indoor and outdoor workshops and when possible, we will try to use our workshops in an outdoor setting to the best of our ability. Due to the nature of Irish weather and adverse weather conditions, the outdoors is not always possible and if we feel the safety of the participants became an issue for us, and where we felt the safety of children or our staff is under threat we may have to either halt operations or safely bring operations indoors when needed.

We intend to follow the guidelines and measures in-line with the public health restrictions. We're working behind the scenes to keep our booking system up to date and if changes do occur, we please ask for your patience. The premises we have at our disposal and our partners who supply those locations are working closely with us but if the situation changes suddenly we may have to alter our operating procedures and this may affect your booking.

We would ask for your support and patience as we try to navigate through the ever-changing public health advice and we wish you and your families the best as you are staying safe in these strange and extraordinary times.

Cancellations due to Covid-19 or medical reasons must be notified on or prior to the first day of the relevant Camp. These cancellations must be verified in writing by the relevant participant’s doctor. If verification is provided within 3 days, a full refund will be issued in respect of the affected participant.

The School of Irish Archaeology is the choice of activity for the curious child. Established in 2011, we have been introducing children to Ireland's rich culture and heritage by offering a great mix of activities to local communities nationwide. So whether you want to come to a heritage event, an educational workshop, a week-long camp, or a family fun day, the School of Irish Archaeology is the choice for your adventurous family.

As the first-ever Archaeology School for children in Ireland, we take pride in our approach in delivering fascinating and engaging workshops to both primary and secondary schools. We now offer specialised adult education including guided cultural tours as part of our service to small/large interest groups and individuals. We bring our workshops to local schools, county museums, libraries and community centres to introduce the wider community to the genesis of Irish culture.

Our education partners understand the value that the School of Irish Archaeology brings to their pupils, and the positive and long-term impact that this experience offers.
