The School of Irish Archaeology presents every Saturday for 2 weeks a mix of archaeology and ancient craft making workshops for children aged 6 – 12 years old through the means of fun, interactive and an experiential form of activities. This course is perfect for children with a creative and curious mind who want to explore the story of the past and our ancient ancient ancestors through crafts and technology workshops. The day lasts from 10am – 2pm and is a perfect extra-curricular activity for your children

Our camps special ingredient for success is our form of active learning encouraging your child to learn how our ancestors adapted to their natural environment. By teaching children to use simple tools and raw materials we harness your children’s desire to learn more about ancient crafts and technologies in past societies. Our workshop activities utilise these ancient skills creating an understanding of the greatest innovations and civilisations the world has ever seen.

We use an ‘Indiana Jones’ approach to ensure your child gets a balance of time, outdoors and indoors. As well as taking part in their very own excavations and exciting activity workshops, children will also arrive home with an abundance of new and quirky knowledge about their ancient ancestors.

Please note: If your child has any specific additional needs or requires a SNA in school, The SIA will need the accompaniment of a guardian or special needs assistant (SNA) throughout the duration of the camp. If your child suffers from any illness or medical condition you must notify SIA. Our staff are all vetted, experienced and trained when it comes to working with children, however, in order to have the best needs of the children in mind and their time with us is enjoyed, we would encourage parents and guardians to contact us if they have any concerns. For further information please contact us at info@sia.ie.
